How do I copy Squarespace sections (not full pages)?
The Squarewebsites Chrome extension copies individual Squarespace sections as well as full pages, so you can move a single section from one site or page to another without copying everything. Install the extension, log in, select the section in the source editor, copy it, and paste it into the destination page.
Section-level copying
The extension is built to copy pages, sections, and collections — so a single section is a valid copy unit (Squarewebsites). This is useful when you want to reuse a hero, footer, or feature grid on another site without rebuilding the layout.
How to do it
- Open the source Squarespace site in the editor and navigate to the page with the section.
- Use the extension to copy the selected section.
- Open the destination site, navigate to the target page, and paste the section in.
You can copy between 7.0 and 7.1 sites as well as between two 7.1 sites (Squarewebsites).
Access and safety
You need at least contributor access to the editing side of the destination site — admin access is not strictly required (Squarewebsites). Back up the destination site before pasting, because the extension uses an undocumented Squarespace API and you use it at your own risk (Squarewebsites).
