Does the Chrome extension require admin access on both Squarespace sites?
No. The Squarewebsites Chrome extension does not require full admin access on both Squarespace sites. You need at least contributor access to the editing side of a site to copy pages and content, so you can work on client sites where you have been added as a contributor rather than an owner.
The access rule
According to Squarewebsites, you don’t necessarily need admin access to copy pages — you’ll at least need contributor access, or access to the editing side of the site (Squarewebsites). This applies to the source site you copy from and the destination site you paste into.
Why this matters for designers
Designers working on client sites are often added as contributors rather than owners. Because the extension works with contributor-level access, you can copy pages and sections into a client’s site without asking them to transfer ownership or grant admin privileges.
What you still need
