How many filter options can I add with Universal Filter?
There are no set limits on the number of filter options you can add, but because Universal Filter runs client-side in the browser, thousands of items or tags will slow the page. The maximum items shown depends on the block type (roughly 20–30 by default), with Summary Blocks capped at 30, raisable to 250.
Option limits
You can add as many category, tag, and dropdown filters as your content supports — there is no hard cap on filter options (Squarewebsites FAQ).
Performance trade-off
Since filtering runs in the browser, very large collections or tag lists slow the page. The default display limit depends on the block type (~20–30 items); Summary Blocks cap at 30 items, which Lazy Summaries can raise to 250, and 7.1 Blog List pages can load and filter all posts. Results cache for about 10 minutes (Squarewebsites).
